Abby's Fairytale Podcast is officially up and running with two full episodes already available. The quality is so-so as I work my way through learning the technology necessary to blow this revolution out of the water (mermaid pun intended). A large part of the problem is the quality of the original story recordings. When I was only recording stories for posterity's sake, it didn't much matter that I didn't have dedicated equipment (like a mic) and just used the recording function on my iPhone, but now that I'm sharing these with the world, I've become extremely aware of just how woefully inadequate the recordings are. I've done my best to up the quality, but it will be a loooong while before the newest stories (which were properly recorded using a lapel mic) will overtake the 3+ years of stories I already recorded the old-fashioned way.
As an aside, Abby's Fairytale Book series is moving along quite nicely. Two "official" books are already available on Amazon along with a side story, of sorts, that was told by Abby and adapted by me. Since the story Abby told was already published on my Millennial Rant podcast, I haven't yet decided if I'll post it to Abby's Fairytale Podcast yet, but I am leaning in that direction. In the meantime, if you want to hear Abby's story (or the story I told Abby that same night) you can find Abby's here and mine here.
Back to the podcast, I'm running a bit behind on getting a well-scheduled backlog up and running because I travel a ton for work, but I'm hoping to prep a bunch of videos tonight, so keep your fingers crossed!
Not much else to report right now, but I'm hoping to get some storytelling tips and tricks out in the coming weeks, so make sure you check back regularly for updates on how you can tell fantasy, reality, reworked, or original tales to your children every day, and never forget: Stories are Magic!
Best,
Cassie
